In Sin City the number of video blackjack machines is on the rise, giving players an electronic option on the casino floors with lower table limits than live tables.
On the Vegas Strip blackjack tables have bad 6/5 payouts for blackjack on lower limit tables, with punters having to wager big for 3/2. These video machines offer a bit of a compromise, as they often times have limits as low as a couple dollars. Of course, there are some downsides to the games, which have hands shuffled after every hand and include multiple decks.
Some have derided video blackjack, saying that they take away jobs from dealers, but there are multiple jobs that can be created with the machines, including technicians. It’s likely that we’ll see video style games continuing to grow in the future, as younger players, as well as lower budget gamblers, are lured to Vegas.
